Band Biography

The Slowdown Boys play a mixture of Bluegrass, Old Time American and Country music reminiscent of the Grammy Award winning soundtrack to the recent Cohen Brothers film 'O Brother Where Art Thou?'.

The music that is at the roots of the Americana and alt.country scene.

Old friends united by a common love of traditional American folk music in all its forms, the band are all veteran musicians and performers with many years of gigging experience between them. Mitch, John and Tim performing in well known Cajun bands R. Cajun and the Zydeco Brothers, The Bearcats and Bayou Noir and Jules and John performing together in cult Derby country band The Arkansas Travellers.

The Slowdown Boys are Julian Clark (Banjo and vocals), Mitch Proctor (Fiddle, mandolin and vocals), John Elliott (Guitar and vocals) and Tim Zielonko (Double Bass).
